Did you hear that whoop of joy? That screech of overwhelming excitement and happiness? It is with utmost delight and sense of pride that I can unveil the cover of my collection of short stories entitled, The Storyteller Speaks.
The ebook will be out in a few days.

No book cover reveal would be complete without the accompanying blurb.
About the Book
It only takes one event to change a life. What is that action, decision, occurrence? Whose life is affected? Changed forever?
In this eclectic mix of 21 short stories, flash fiction and poetry the pendulum swings between first love and murder, from soul-destroying grief to reconciliation. The tales veer from the sweet satisfaction of revenge to new beginnings, from heart-breaking miscarriages of justice to heart-warming Christmas misadventure.
One common thread binds them all; the belief that there is no such thing as an ordinary life; they’re all extraordinary.
Open your hearts and minds as The Storyteller Speaks.
In moments of thrilling ecstatic elation I just need a quick bop and this is is one of my all-time favourite songs to which I let my hair down and dance – I hope you can join me.

A week ago I posted my publishing woes when I was let down. Just as I had accepted the inevitable long delay before starting anew my journey to publication an email from Sally Cronin at Smorgadbord – Variety is the spice of life popped up my inbox.
I read it over and over. Could it be true…I both laughed and cried with joy; my hope re-kindled.
Sally wrote to say how sorry she was for me and that as she and her husband are publishers they would only be too happy to take on my book and prepare it for publication. David runs the publishing company and I was soon in touch with him at Moyhill Publishing.
Both Sally and David were adamant that we could get the book out by Christmas and ever since emails have been winging their way back and forth between David and myself.
David Cronin is a true professional, a joy to work with. His speed in returning amended proofs and answering questions is unbelievable. No query was too much, every step of the way was explained…all in the midst of proofreading and for him formatting the manuscript.
Meanwhile, there was one major hurdle – the cover, or rather lack of one! I remembered Debby’s beautiful cover of her latest book. I looked at her book cover designer’s website and found a fabulous cover for my book. I immediately emailed Yvonne Less at Art4Artists. Within minutes and despite the early morning in Australia I had a reply! After this initial email it only took a few days until I had the finished cover.
I cannot thank David and Sally enough for coming to my rescue; they are both such warm, wonderful people. They work with great professionalism and expertise and the past week has been very uplifting for me.
I am overjoyed and honoured to be published by Moyhill Publishing.
The paperback book is ready however we are just waiting for print proofs and space at the printers. It will be published in January 2018.
Great news Annika exciting times ahead. Wishing you every success, we shall have to cheer each other on!! Well done. Xxx
Definitely, Marje! 😀😀 I now appreciate so much more the work every writer puts into their books. It is a hugely exciting and slightly terrifying time!! Wishing you lots of success with yours too.😀❤️
Whew! Congratulation! Annika. If you’d like me to promote your book on my sidebar, just send me an email so I can tell you how I work it. [It’s a freebie, of course.]
Glynis, Wow!! Thank you so much for your wonderful offer.😀 I would love to take you up to have my book promoted on your blog via the sidebar. I have seen this before and it’s a terrific idea. Warmest thanks again and I will be in contact.
Thrilled for you, Annika! And you’re inspiring me to take a different tack in the pursuit of publishing my own short stories. Will be delighted to purchase yours when it becomes available!
Thank you so much and I’m thrilled you want to purchase!! Keep a look out on my blog over this weekend! 😃 I am so happy my experience can inspire you to publish your short stories…I would love to read them! As you can tell, I highly recommend David Cronin at Moyhill Publishing if you decide to go this route! He will make what seems daunting, easy and possible! 😀 Good luck. xx
Oh my goodness–what a wonderful story. I am so happy for you, will now be a fan of Sally Cronin for life. Love the cover and can’t wait to see the finished book (and buy it!).
Haha!! 😀 Jacqui, I think you’re after me in the Sally Cronin life-time fan club!!❤️ It is a fantastic story, I agree and one that could become a lovely story in its own right! Thank you so much for looking forward to the book and that you intend to buy it – that means a lot to me!! It’s so exciting to think so many others will soon be reading it! Yikes! 😀
Congratulations Annika! Isn’t it wonderful how things have a way of working out? Your blurb sounds fantastically interesting, and the cover is gorgeous! So exciting! xoxo
Lana, I’m so happy you like the blurb and cover – the latter is so beautiful, captivating! 😃 At the moment I’m beyond excited…the past week has been a whirlwind of work, but all positive and moving forwards at supersonic speed! I just can’t believe the changes in my fortunes regarding the book…life is amazing and never a dull moment! hugs xx
Life is definitely amazing, Annika. Hugs back to you! xx
Woo-Hoo! So happy for you, Annika! Despite the initial bad news you got, fortune seems to be smiling on you with things falling into place. So awesome Sally and David saved the day–er, the book 🙂 Can’t wait for it to be released. What a great Christmas present!
Julie, thank you so much!! 😀 I can hear your call of joy for me all the way across the ocean – that means so much!! 😀 Last week I was resigned that the book wouldn’t be published for a while as I started the process anew…then the wonderful email. What an amazing couple and yes, the best present for me! Not long until the release! ❤️
Wonderful news!!! Congratulations!
Thank you so much, Rebecca!! 😀❤️
What fabulous news, Annika! I am so thrilled for you and look forward to having my own copy of your book in the new year. Your blurb is a masterpiece! 🙂 I love that beautiful cover!
Wow!! Clare, thank you so much for your amazing comment about my blurb…wow! 😀 I worked hard on it and was pleased with this final version which I think sums up the book perfectly. Yeah! I’m also so happy you love the cover…thank you. I do hope you like the stories when you read the book in the new year! ❤️
xx ❤ ❤ xx
Oh Annika, I’m sooooooooo happy for you. I’m thrilled that Sally and David gave your book the treatment it deserved and I’m thrilled you loved my book cover and trusted my cover artist with your baby. The cover is gorgeous! And I’d expect no less from Yvonne. A Merry Christmas is definitely headed your way! I’m looking so forward to reading your book! ❤
Debby, thank you so much!! ❤️ This is an exhilarating time and I don’t think I’ve known a Christmas like it! (For one thing I’ve never been so disorganised! It’s got to the extent where my son is happy if there is a clean top, never mind ironed!!) Yvonne’s cover is stunning and leaped out at me the moment I saw it. The whole time I had blue and white in mind for the cover, something a bit mystical, the idea of the stories floating across the world…this was perfect. She was a gem to work with, so quick…as for David, wow! This is what I’d hoped for and a joy to share the same ideas and work ethic and approach to the book.
I’m so happy you’re looking forward to reading my book..yours is on my kindle and now when things calm down I’ll have chance to catch up…can’t wait to read it!😀❤️
Yay on all counts! Your cover evokes everything you say you wanted to capture! And lol, I had to laugh at ‘disorganized’ my place goes upside down every time I publish! I still haven’t got things back to normal, probably won’t til after Christmas, lol. ❤
Christmas?? I’ve barely noticed it!! The only reason a tree got in the house was that my son was so keen before a party with his friends here! Usually I’d have written all the card by now, wrapped the presents..You and I can make a concerted effort to get things in shape next year…sometime…!😀😃
LOL, I know the feeling! No more publishing in December for me, lol. No tree, presents for the grandies have been sprawled all over my living room floor for 3 weeks now! Hoping to get back my floor space by Sunday 🙂 🙂 xx
Woo-hoo, girlfriend, you’re off and running! The cover is dynamite. I look forward to reading. So glad Sally came to your rescue and David jumped in with both feet. Such a blessing, and a glorious Christmas gift ❤
Yippee!!😀😀 Tina,I can’t quite believe this is happening and my mind is running for sure! It hasn’t stopped spinning with everything that needs to be done! Yeah! I love your comment about the cover being ‘dynamite!’ – I wanted it to make an impact and be memorable! Sally and David have been beyond wonderful and helpful and the quick turnaround is totally down to David and his unrelenting work! Tina, I’m so happy you’re looking forward to reading the book – thank you! ❤️
Your excitement is catchy, Annika. Great way to spread holiday cheer! ❤
That’s an amazing cover, Annika! Wishing you all the very best with your book!
Thank you so much, Pete and great that you find the cover amazing! 😀
What a beautiful cover, Annika! Can’t wait to read the stories under that cover… ❤ xo
Thank you so much, Bette …you won’t have to wait long! hugs xx❤️
Wonderful! ❤ xo
Just think, you got to choose your own cover and do it your way this time. I LOVE that cover. It’s magical, warm and inviting. Congratulations and good luck. 🙂
Lori, I couldn’t believe it when I saw the cover – it was as if made for me and my book! I’m so happy you love it too and feel its magical vibe. 😀
Yay! How exciting, Annika, and how wonderful that Sally and David came through with such speed and generosity. This blogging world is full of true heroes and heartfelt friends. The cover is wonderful too. I can’t wait until the book is available. Be sure to let us all know. ❤
Diana, this is beyond exciting…I’m giddy with joy and anticipation. 😀❤️ I’m so glad you like the cover, I couldn’t believe my luck this was available and Was just perfect for my book!! I had blue and white in mind the whole time…serendipity! Oh, David and Sally have been wonderful and the whole blogging community has been so supportive and encouraging… I would have given up many times without them! Not long now and don’t worry, I’m definitely posting once the book is published!! 😀😀
❤ Enjoy every moment of it ❤
What a beautiful Christmas present for you! That is so wonderful of Sally and her husband, David. It’s all worked out for the best, given what supportive people you’re now able to work with. The cover is striking with it’s blend of blues and whites. I especially like the bird for an eye. Very artistic. And your blurb is great. I look forward to the release and reading your stories. Congratulations!
Mae, wow! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. The bird for an eye is so creative and imaginative and just one of many striking elements. Yeah!! I’m so glad you like the blurb. None of this would have been possible without David and Sally – the speed of it all is breathtaking – literally!! I don’t feel I’ve stopped this past week. It is indeed the most amazing present for me – a dream come true!! Thank you so much for looking forward to the book release and reading the short stories – that means so much to me. hugs xx
Congratulations! It’s a celebration time! I loved your book cover…so happy for you, wishing you all the best! Eagerly waiting to read your stories on kindle 🖒🎉💜
Thank you so much and wonderful that you loved the cover!! 😀 it’s fantastic to know you are looking forward to the book and it won’t be long now! Thank you. 😀
This is great news. What a rollercoaster! Your blurb worked for me too. Looking forward to getting my hands on the whole book. Short stories are just the ticket over holiday season.
Rollercoaster is the word!!😀 Short stories are perfect for certain occasions and time of the year – glad that this is one of those times! There’s even a feel-good Christmas story towards the end! So happy you’re looking forward to reading it!😀
Yay! Congrats! Beautiful cover too!
Thank you so much!! 😀 The cover is beautiful, I agree – so calming and magical.
“When one door closes another opens…” I love what Carrie said and I believe in it 100%. Congratulations, Annika! Both your cover and your blurb are excellent. I will download your book as soon as it is up. What an nice Christmas present for you… and for us. –Curt
It’s so true but often at the time you can’t quite believe it! I won’t forget again!😀 Curt, I am so happy you like the cover ad blurb and am honoured you’re going to buy it. I know, what an amazing present for me – a dream becoming a reality and yes, a present for you too.
🙂
This is wonderful news and trust Sally and David to come to the rescue. The cover looks great and I know you will do well with this book. What a wonderful Christmas present to you!!
Darlene, the past couple of weeks could be out of a fiction book – it sometimes feels unreal to me. Sally and David were both so quick to offer to help and before I knew it the collaboration was on! The most amazing present for me and one I’d given up on … at least for quite a while!
A story with a happy ending is always nice to read but especially at Christmas. David and Sally are stars. Congratulations on your new book. May the coming year bring you every success.
It is almost too good to be true! 😀 Paul, I agree wholeheartedly – they are stars and have done fantastic work very quickly for me. I wasn’t sure it could be done, they never doubted! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. It feels amazing to be starting the new year as a published writer! 😀
Congrats Annika, what fabulous news! Your book cover is stunning; love the blue and white colour combination, and the tenderness depicted by the dandelion. Your blurb is so enticing that I’m conflicted on whether to give in and get the eBook soon or wait for the paperback. 🙂
All the best…♥
Khaya, thank you so much for your wonderful comment and I love how you see so much in the cover. The tenderness is so evocative. Yippee! I am so happy you find the blurb enticing…
I know, I know! Ebook or Paperback?? This is a quandary I hadn’t meant to put anyone in!! The original plan was to publish both simultaneously but this became impossible to manage within a couple of weeks for printing reasons and since the ebook is ready we thought, why not release it first! If you prefer paperbacks, I totally understand if you wait until that is published in January. I’m just over the moon you are keen to read it – warmest thanks! ❤️
I am so happy to hear this. I’m excited about this book – with my love of short stories and flash fiction… But I have to say, that cover is absolutely beautiful. The colors are lovely (and the bird/eye is brilliant). And how wonderful Sally and David were about to help you out. I’m thrilled for you. An early holiday gift. 🙂 Congratulations!
Sarah, thank you so much for your wonderful and bubbly comment. 😀❤️ Yeah!! As a fan of short stories and fiction I think my book will be perfect for you. There are flash fiction of two hundred words to stories of just under 3,000 – I hope you get a chance to read! I’m so happy you like the cover. The bird/eye is awe-inspiring and the colours just what I had in mind – I can’t belive my luck! A wonderful early present for me as you say, and all made possible with Sally and David’s speedy help!
Congratulations, Annika! I’m doing the happy dance with you. The cover looks fabulous and so inviting. Cheers to you and another fantastic achievement! 🙂
Natalie, yeah! 😀😀 So glad you could join in with the dance…this is one song for which you can’t sit still! I’m so happy you like the cover and inviting – that’s always important! Thanks again and cheers! Xx
Wow! Wow! Love that news Annika and many congrats for having found such a lovely cover, Sally’s offer for publishing the paperback and the love of all of us who are looking forward to reading your book. I can feel the elation as your words are powerful enough to touch my heart. Aren’t we blessed to be in this blogosphere? Love and hugs dear friend. Holding my breath to read more of your book…till then hold my best wishes that are flying across the seas to reach you 🙂
Balroop, your wonderful comment brings smiles to my heart and soul…I can feel those wishes flying across the seas to me. 😀😀 The blogosphere is an astonishing place, a vibrant community, very much alive and active. I’ve found it’s hard for others who have no idea about blogging what it is like. When I’ve described the contact I’ve made with so many across the world they are astounded and awed, when I tell them how two friends I met here on WP but never met in person came to my rescue they can barely believe it. A blessing indeed and without it my writing would not have developed as it has, without the friendship and support and encouragement of everyone my perseverance to see a book to completion would have waned. Balroop, I’m touched you’re holding your breath for my book…not long now but you’re allowed to breathe!! Hugs & love ❤️
“Friends are our second selves,” said Aristotle…that is why they seem so dear and can respond most naturally to the aspirations we hold within us and if they happen to touch our hearts with their words, we know they are indeed our own self. 🙂 Stay blessed dear friend.
Wow!! Thank you so much for sharing that quote (new to me) and your words about friendship. Something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently. Powerful thoughts here, Balroop … ❤️
When one door closes another opens… Congratulations, Annika! Glad things have worked out so well for you.
Carrie, I still can’t believe how things have worked out and how quickly my fortune changed…they are such wonderful caring people who take their work seriously. Thank you so much, Carrie…it’s an amazing feeling! 😀
Oh how wonderful, Annika!! Yes! I heard your whoops of joy. Congratulations on the new book and I love the cover! Best of luck and Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much, Jan!! 😀 So glad you like the cover..I think this is one that will always be enticing! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! 🎄
Woo-Hoo! Such wonderful news, Annika and the cover looks beautiful!!! Many, many congratulations, my dear friend! 😀 Can´t wait to read it!!! And it´s wonderful imagining you dancing to this awesome song! 🙂 xxx
Sarah, thank you so much for your bubbly comment. I think your enthusiasm matches mine! 😀😀 I’m so happy you like the cover and I do like to get your viewpoint as an artist. Ahh…I’m so excited that you can’t wait to read it..as you probably saw the paperback is out in January if you prefer. My dancing has calmed down after the high of yesterday…hugs xx
You’re very welcome, Annika! 😄 I can’t get Dancing in the streets out of my head now! LOL 😄
Also I did a bit of research and downloaded a programm that should allow me to read an e-book on my Mac because I’m not sure I can wait til January! 😁 Hope I will be able to download your book, I’ve never done it before so bear with me 😉 And keep dancing – it helps to stay warm as well as happy! 😄 Hugs! xxx
Hehe!! Sorry about that, Sarah…you will have to find another song to replace it…but can take a couple of days, I’ve found! 😀 Sarah, you are the sweetest! ❤️ Bless you for being so keen to read my book. If you really want to read it before the paperback release there is a way to read on the mac – and that is how I’ve been working a bit with the editing (I work on a mac too!)
If you go to the app store and download the kindle app. Then open this on your mac. When you buy the ebook on amazon it should download to the kindle – just make sure it’s registered to you. I hope this works…I’m not 100% sure that you might need a kindle device first??
I did found another song, or rather theme: I did some binge watching of “Downton Abbey” last night, so now my head is filled with this wonderful and dramatic intro 😉 Not very danceable but lovely too. 🙂
I downloaded the kindle app and will run a test today and hopefully buy myself an ebook, since I hope it doesn’t matter that I don´t have a kindle device. This shouldn’t be a problem when I buy it at Amazon.de but I´m not sure if will be as easy buying at Amazon.UK or Amazon.com ? Since I don´t have an account there… Ah, the benefits and difficulties of technology! 😉 But we will solve this “problem” and if doesn’t work out as planned I can still look forward to the (signed 🙂 ) paperback! 😀
Have a beautiful Friday, Annika! xxx ❤
Oh, I love Downton Abbey and the intro is wonderful and sweeping. Is there a Christmas special this year or was last year the final one!
Sarah, I found out today that my book will be available on Amazon.de. Just type in my name and book title and it should be there!! I’ll let you know when ‘the book now on Amazon’ post is live!
Wishing you a lovely weekend and Happy 3rd Advent! xx
I somehow knew you would also love Downton Abbey 😉 What´s not to love about it, right? The wonderful clothes, the manners, the setting, the stories… ahh, it really is one of my favorite TV series!
I think last Christmas was the final one, although I would love for there to be another one!
Which one is your favorite character? I mean, they´re all great of course, but Maggie Smith is just brilliant – well, she´s brilliant wherever she happens to play in, but I think this role just suits her so perfectly.
Found the book and already bought it!! 😀
Have a wonderful and Happy 3rd Advent too! xxx ❤
Sarah, thank you so much for buying the book!! ❤️ I’m so excited you’re going to be reading it..that’s wonderful. Enjoy! 😀😀
Oh, Maggie Smith was one of my favourites too. Along with Carson, Anna and Bates. Lady Mary drove me crazy…she only seemed to have one inflection in her voice!
It´s my pleasure – and I mean it! Looking so much forward to bury my nose in my Mac for reading your stories!
Oh, yes, Anna and Bates – what a love story, I almost always cry when I see them, either from sadness for their fate or from joy! LOL!
Carson is just golden! I admit, he´s one of the role models for the butler character in my Count Harecula stories 😉
Sarah, bless you – not quite the cosy comfy time I was imagining for you!! 😀😀 I better rush out with the paperback! ❤️
This is great news, Annika. You have good reason to be ecstatically elated! The cover is fantastic and Sally and David came to the rescue just in time for Christmas. Dance away, dear friend! I am so happy for you! 🙂 ❤
Carol, ‘ecstatically elated’ sums up my mood brilliantly!! 😀😀 It is beyond elated and this has happened so fast I can’t really belive it. It’s been a whirlwind of activity and emails since last week – I know, how amazing that they could help so quickly. Sally was adamant that the book could be out before Christmas – I hoped but wasn’t sure, particularly with a cover still missing!! It’s been a crazy busy time but in the best possible way! I think the dancing has slowed down today…it will no doubt pick up in publication date! ❤️
How wonderful, Annika. I am so happy to hear of your lovely experience with David after being let down. I will try and squeeze your book into my [huge] TBR pile for this Christmas holiday. I will get to it, I promise.
Robbie, thank you so much for trying to squeeze my book in for this holiday…I find the good thing with short story collections is you can pick the book up and read one or two at a time, little treats each time! 😀 Oh, David has been amazing… I’m sure there were times when I’d sent corrections off and the new proofs were back before I’d made a cup of tea! 😀 hugs xx
I’m thrilled for you! Congratulations! I can’t wait to read your new book.
Thank you so much and I’m over the moon that you are looking forward to reading my book – that is wonderful! 😀
Dear Storyteller, I am so very pleased that your words will now spread out into the universe like the dandelion flower to be enjoyed by many and varied readers.
Bless you, Bernadette, for your tender and thoughtful comment. My heart smiles at your starting words…thank you. 😀❤️You describe exactly the feeling the book cover gave me when I saw it… and on top of that I loved dandelions as a child and blowing on the flower to let the seeds fly far away. Perfect!
I felt like I was reading a wonderful Christmas story when I read your post. What good news. Congratulations, Annika! Yes, you are in good hands.
Jennie, it does seem a bit like that, doesn’t it?! 😃 Nearly too good to be true and the events have a wonderfully feel-good effect. With the snow we’ve had this week it would fit in perfectly as a Christmas story. Thank you for your lovely comment and congratulations…yes, I am in very good hands indeed and feel so confident and reassured with their support.
My pleasure, Annika. 🙂
This is wonderful news, Annika! I’m so happy for you! Congratulations !🎈🎉🍾
Thank you so much, Jill! 😃 I am so excited and can’t quite believe this is real yet! hugs, my friend. xx ❤️
It’s real, so enjoy the moment, Annika! The cover is lovely. ❤
Thank you, Jill…you just got me to stop and ponder…yes, it is real. Tears in my eyes. bless you. xx 😀❤️
Congratulations, Annika! Thrilled for you! Now let’s see you dance like Mick Jagger in that video! 😊
Haha!! 😃😀 Now, if we could wind the clock back to the mid 80s I might take a video! Many thanks, Kelly – a very exciting thrilling day for me!
Indeed! Wish you all the best! 😊
Great news, Annika, congratulations! A lovely book cover… creative and striking. All the very best for the ebook! Look forward to it! 😃
Iris, thank you so much!!😃 I’m so happy you like the cover – as soon as I saw it, it just felt right! Striking is exactly what I thought, with a hint of mystery and the white and blue I had my heart set on! So glad you’re looking forward to the ebook – not long now! hugs xx
Reblogged this on Die Erste Eslarner Zeitung – Aus und über Eslarn, sowie die bayerisch-tschechische Region!.
Many thanks for the reblog! xx😃
Fabulous news, Annika. Congratulations. Lookign forward to getting it on my Kindle!
That’s wonderful, Mary!! 😀😃Thank you and not long to wait!
Reblogged this on Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life and commented:
Annika Perry is looking forward to the release of her debut short story collection within a few days.. She is sharing her cover reveal and it would be great if you could head over and share..
Sally, warmest thanks for the reblog and your gentle nudge for visitors and sharing!! 😃
Pleasure Annika.. I am sure that they will be over.. hugs x
We are delighted to be part of your celebrations Annika and I know how tough it can be to have your dreams put on hold.. I had to wait for two years before I finally managed to publish my first book 20 years ago. We put our hearts and souls into them and I am sure that your collection will be loved by many.. Thank you for your kind words.. and will pass them on to David. I am looking forward to posting your New Book for Christmas as soon as the ebook is available.. Sally
Sally, it’s a pleasure and honour to have you part of the celebrations!! 😃 The road to publication is never easy I’m beginning to realise but since I came on board with you and David it’s been a whirlwind of activity – all positive! Congratulations to you on your 20 years of being published – that is wonderful! I very much hope this collection will be loved by many – despite too many to count readings of my book I still find myself engrossed in the stories, carried away – which I take as a good sign! Many thanks for your offer to post about my new book as soon as it is released – very much appreciated. ❤️
Great to hear Annika.. and as you can imagine having David in house has made the last 20 years very much easier on the publishing front.. and all other fronts.. xx♥
Haha! 😀 Yes, I can well imagine that makes things a little (ie. a lot) easier!! hugs xx
WELL DONE YOU. What a journey that has been, and how wonderful to see a setback turn into a triumph. There are obviously some fantastic people watching your blog, and turning your dreams into reality.
That cover will almost sell the book by itself. A brilliant piece of work. (not suggesting of course that the contents won’t also sell.)
Good luck, and I’m awaiting the chance to read it.
Thank you so much, Peter and wonderful to know that you are looking forward to reading my book! 😀 How true, that without Sally and David’s quick support The Storyteller Speaks would still be sitting on my computer – the fast turnaround is astonishing!
Haha! 😀 I’m glad you like the cover so much – it is wonderfully striking and hopefully equally gripping will be the stories inside (I think they are but I’m a tad bit biased!)
wonderful news Annika. i am so happy for you. hearty congratulations. what a journey to publication it’s been for you. love the cover and love the celebratory u-tube video. well done you.
Many thanks, Libby!! 😀😃 Yeah! So happy you love the cover – I do too but it’s most important that everyone else does too!! I have a feeling the road to publication is never easy…mine was rather circuitous but this last week has been amazing! 😀
CONGRATULATIONS ANNIKA. I’m so thrilled for you. The book cover is gorgeous and the description makes one want to delve right in. No wonder you’re dancing in the streets. Enjoy this moment my friend. You deserve to be ecstatic. xo 🙂
Miriam, thank you so much and I love to hear your positive reaction to the book cover and book description – that means so much to me! ❤️ Oh, I am ecstatic and slightly in shock as well…events have happened so quickly and my fortune turned 180 degrees! Hope you’re joining me for a celebratory bop, my friend! xx
Absolutely am Annika and I’m grinning like a Cheshire Cat for you too. So so great. 😊 xo
Also, what a great lesson in keeping your chin up. This biz will break you otherwise xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You are right there, Shey…there were times I regretted starting the whole process but only for very brief periods – now I’m overwhelmed with emotion! hugs xx❤️
Never regret starting. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Annika this is wonderful news. Thrilled for you. Sally is amazing. David too xxxxxxxxxxx
Shey, I just can’t believe I am finally here…a dream come true! 😀 Without David and Sally, I realise this moment would be a long way away – they’re real gems.
Listen, I never commented on your last post. What I do is I click the bloggers posts in my rader I especially like and let their posts sit to read in a oner but that day, not only was I feeling really unwell with this cold the net kept crashing and there were problems with WP too. I know other WP folks found they could not get their reader to load at all. Anyway I read this post this morning and then went over and read your other post. Really it is a horrible situation to be in. Soul destroying. I am with two publishing houses and I lost the will to write after the carry on on the last two releases. I know very well how you must have felt. I am thrilled Sally and David–such great people, helped make your dreams come true and keep going. Chalk it up to experience. Remember what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Shey, first of all, I’ve been worried about you and knew you were ill. Are you fully recovered yet? I feel for you, I really do.
Secondly, I totally understand about ‘losing” some posts – I try to mark up ones I want to read later when I have time to comment but am sure some disappear! I am so sorry to read about your tough experiences with the two publishing houses. That sounds absolutely horrid and how dreadful that the effect is that you lose the will to write.I can totally empathise though and for a while felt the same over the past two months! With this fantastic stimulating experience of working with David, I now feel inspired to write again…and I know where to go for future publishing!
Shey, I had to laugh at your last sentence…reckon we both must be quite strong by now!!
Take good care of yourself and keep well. hugs xx ❤️
Congratulations Annika. I love your blurb and book cover. Stunning. It sounds like Sally and David were meant to be included on your journey. No better people. Happy Christmas. I will do a wee dance for you later xx
Brigid, thank you so much and wow, I am so happy you love the blurb and cover!! That is fantastic! 😃 You are so right, I am sure they were meant to be included and as soon as I started working with David we clicked straightaway – emails pinging in our inboxes, understanding what he meant. Sally is a gem and helped bring me on board – I can’t thank her enough. Yeah…so glad you’re joining in with a dance. 😃❤️
Wow Annika, Congratulations. I just love that cover, so pure in colours and with a feel of mystery as I see the words fly out like the dandelion seeds.
Perfect!
Your blurb is wonderful with deep truths imbedded. As to content it sounds as if we are in for a treat and a varied diet. Here is one reader who will have the finger ready to buy the Kindle edition as it comes out very soon.
Thank you for this positive news
Miriam
Miriam, thank you so much for your poetic description of the cover – that is wonderful!! I loved the ethereal mysterious nature of the cover and all the time I had blue and white in mind so it was perfect!! So happy you love it too.
Wow! Thank you for your incredible words about my blurb…it is indeed varied and even after reading them nth times I still enjoy them – which I take as a positive sign.
Thank you also for being so keen to buy this kindle edition – not long now! hugs, my friend. xx❤️
Annika, this is wonderful news for you. I’m very excited, and I agree that the cover is lovely and tantalizing. Your publishing journey could be a story in your book – it takes only one event to change a life. This very thing just happened for you, a disappointment turned into a victory.
Shari, life is astonishing and I was overwhelmed with emotion when I heard from Sally and that they were prepared to take me on so quickly. It was nearly overwhelming with such a swing of events…wonderfully so. 😃 My blog started as a way to document my journey to publication and yes, it’s been a rollercoaster of a ride and could very well be turned into a good fiction story! As an aside, since I’ve nearly completed my publication journey…my son asked me what I would change my tagline to? Good question!
Maybe he’ll help you think of a new one – how fantastic to need a new tagline because you are going to be published!
congrats (I am logging off so this will be brief) and funny choice of video (perfect) never saw M and D together like that – lol

Many thanks, Yvette and this is a classic of the two of them and one I used to dance to whilst getting ready to go to the disco! Always put me in the mood to party! 😃
haha – gotta get in the mood – ttys
Congratulations.
Thank you so much, Rosie! 😀
