SUMMER SPOTLIGHT: ANNIKA PERRY

Earlier this Spring I was thrilled to be invited to feature as part of Jill Weatherholt’s wonderful ‘Summer Spotlight’ series. It’s with delight and excitement that today I appear as her guest and I hope you will enjoy reading my responses to her three searching questions which she put to me.

My warmest thanks to Jill for this opportunity! Happy Reading!

    1. Ahh…I’d love that and I reckon we’d both be the most intense members of the book club! 😀 It was a delight appearing on the Spotlight and be interviewed for the first time ever!!

After following your blog for a couple of years it was great to discover that you were a guest blogger. I think this was thoroughly deserved as I always enjoy your well written and interesting posts. It was great reading your responses to the questions and finding out more about you too. I hope your dream of a trip to the Grand Canyon comes true.

    1. I hope it becomes a reality too, Mike and I’m in the very early stages of planning this…always a lot of fun too! 😀 Thank you for your lovely comment and I’m glad you enjoyed learning a bit more about me!! 😀❤️

    1. Thank you so much, Sharon! 😀 JIll’s questions were inspiring and the layering of personal and historical detail came automatically but I’m glad it worked well. So glad you enjoyed reading this! 😀❤️

    1. I hope so too…we’re looking at organising a trip in the next couple of years! The planning itself is very exciting! 😀 Thank you so much for your comment and I’m so glad you enjoyed reading it.

  2. Wow, fantastic to get to know more about you Annika. I want to tell you that you must find a way to put that Grand Canyon on your bucket list. Truly one of the world’s wonder. I love the desert and spent the last few winters in Arizona. I’ve also been to the bottom of the canyon. Surreal! 🙂 xx

    1. Debby, the Grand Canyon has moved to the top of the list following such comments as yours! I’m totally sold! 😀😀 How did you get to the bottom of it? It’s a long trek I believe? I love the idea of escaping the cold and I guess Arizona is wonderfully warm! Or is that an understatement?? 😀

      1. Arizona is hot from March thru October, very hot in summer. I took a helicopter tour which landed right in the Canyon. Lol, I don’t think you can trek it. There are tons of tour buses that will take you to various parts around the Canyon, but to get to the bottom only by helicopter. 🙂

  3. Great spotlight, Annika! I love learning more about the writers I know. People have such interesting backgrounds! And I hope you do get a chance to see the Grand Canyon. Words and pictures just can’t do justice to the experience of standing on the edge of the canyon and watching the rising sun on the striated rock. Have a great rest of your weekend!

    1. Oh, Julie…did you have to paint such a beautiful image of the sunrise on the ‘striated rock’…now I want to go more than ever! 😀😀 We are starting to plan, very roughly, a visit in a couple of years…I agree it is so interesting and intriguing to learn about writers and their backgrounds and I’m an avid reader of posts like these and also the biography section in novels…surprising how much one can learn!

    1. Thank you so much, Kathy! Oh yes, I can laugh at that now, retrospectively, but at the time quite a battle of wills!! 😀😀 I’m beginning to realise I must have got the one roommate who actually didn’t feel the cold! 😀

  4. Thank you so much for taking the spotlight, Annika! I’m a huge fan of yours, so it’s been an honor to introduce you to some new bloggers. I hope you’ll come back when your book is published…you’re always welcome. ❤

    1. Jill, it’s been wonderful to be part of this series and to be featured on your blog! A huge thank you once again!! ❤️❤️ The response from everyone has been overwhelming and I’m so touched by all the comments. Wow, yes please I’d love to visit once my book is published…thank you. 😀😀 Warmest wishes to you. Xx

    1. Thank you, Libby! 😀 It’s been an honour to be featured and I’ve been so excited. I do love writing and the more I practice the craft the moreI have to learn! 😀❤️
